Bookplayer won't find wifi

On ambling lite 2.01 on a HTC desire (android 2.0)

I have chosen to download a book from the book store but it just gives me the message that it is waiting for wifi connectivity. My phone has full wifi connectivity and has had all the time I've been trying to download the book.

How can I get it to see the wifi, no other apps have a problem seeing it.

In testing we have found that there appears to be an issue in the v2.01 release in the code which manages the status of whether the Wi-Fi or phone data network is currently connected.

If your phone is connected to the network, but it is not correctly downloading, a temporary workaround for this issue is to turn on airplane mode, and then shortly after that turn off airplane mode. This will cause the Android to resend the broadcast signals regarding the current phone network connectivity state, and should cause the player to resume downloading correctly.

We are investigating the cause of this issue with the phone network state detection and should have a fix in our next release.

Nope that didn't make any difference.

I'm not really bothered about downloading but I do want to test the app before I pay for the full version and 4 days into testing with nothing to play on the app, the testing isn't going very well.

So do I have to wait for the next version before I can try it out?

Please check in the Preferences to see if the setting "Wi-Fi Download Only" is current turned on. If you turn off this setting then the player should download over any connected network. The default setting for this preference option for the current Android v2.01 release is to not have the "Wi-Fi Download Only" option selected.

We expect to have a new release out in less than a week which addresses the problem where the network connectivity state is sometimes tracked incorrectly.

v2.02 has been released with resolves the issue with the network connectivity status being reported incorrectly sometimes.
