The Pro edition of the Ambling BookPlayer lets you add books from your computer. The Lite edition does not have this feature.
There are a couple of ways to transfer the mp3 files for your own books onto the iPhone player:
1) Loading the book into iTunes and syncing to your iPhone.
a) Add the mp3 files for the book to iTunes in the either the audiobook or music section
b) Make sure that each of the files in the book are marked as part of the same "Album"
c) Sync that Album to your iPhone using the normal iTunes synchronization
d) Start the Ambling BookPlayer on your iPhone and go to the Library screen by pressing the "Library" tab button on the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen (leftmost button)
e) While on the Library screen press the "Menu" button at the bottom of the screen (rightmost button)
f) Select the "Add Book from iPod Media" option on the menu
g) At the top of the Add Book screen select the correct location in iTunes where you put the mp3 files for the book, either "Audiobooks", "Albums", or "Podcasts"
h) Follow the instructions on the screens to select the book files and add the book
2) Copying the book to your iPhone storage memory
a) Start iTunes on your computer and connect your iPhone
b) Follow the steps marked with red circles and labeled #1, #2, #3, and #4 in the screen shot image shown below:
#1 Select your iPhone device
#2 Click on the "Apps" tab at the top of the screen
#3 Select "Ambling Pro" from the Apps listed on the left bottom half of the screen
#4 Use the documents section on the right bottom half of the screen to copy the mp3 files to your iPhone. The iPhone does not support creating directories or folders so you will need to copy only the mp3 files for a single book at a time.
c) Start the Ambling BookPlayer on your iPhone and go to the Library screen by pressing the "Library" tab button on the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen (leftmost button)
d) While on the Library screen press the "Menu" button at the bottom of the screen (rightmost button)
e) Select the "Add Book from Shared Files" option on the menu
f) Follow the instructions on the screens to select the book files and add the book
