Download completed with errors

Have just installed the windows version on my laptop, I get this every time I try to download a book, have tried turning off all anti virus and firewalls etc still fails to download. anyone have any ideas? Running Win 7 on a fast Acer Laptop, but very slow internet access here in China.

Is this problem only happening for a certain book, or does it happen for any book that you try to download?

The problem could be an issue with the server hosting the book, or with the internet connectivity.

The free LibriVox books download from servers maintained by LibriVox, and occasionally one of the LibriVox servers goes down making some of their books unavailable. They are usually able to get their servers back up and running before too long.

After waiting a while try downloading the book again. If you are downloading a LibriVox book and are still seeing problems check on their site at librivox.org to see if you can access the audio files for the book you are trying to download directly from their site.

Hi, Thanks for the reply, this happens with all books so far, both from Librivox and others, I will try again and see if it is a server issue, my guess is that my internet speed is too slow, and so times out, not sure how to overcome that :(

Tried downloading the actual mp3 files still fails, it is my guess that the "Free" books are not actually available, that this is a trick to get people to use and then buy their software, how sad is that!!!

If you can you give me the name of a particular book that you are trying to download which doesn't work, I will try to track down if there is an issue with the book.

All of the free LibriVox books come from servers that are hosted by LibriVox and sometimes their servers do go down. If you cannot download a book through our site, you can try downloading it directly from the LibraVox web site at http://librivox.org That would help in troubleshooting to find if the problem is happening at the LibriVox site or is an issue with the links for a particular book from our web site.
