Some users with phones running Android 1.5 are reporting seeing problem code 762 - no WAKE_LOCK permission after upgrading to either the Personal edition or the Pro edition. Depending on the first activity attempted they may also see other permission errors such as no ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE permission.

This problem is related to a bug in the security system on Android 1.5 which was fixed in the Android 1.6 release. More details about this bug can be found at http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2773

This problem can occur when users with phones running Android 1.5 upgrade to either the Personal edition or the Pro edition and then uninstall the previous edition from the phone. When the user uninstalls the older edition, the Android 1.5 OS mistakenly removes the permissions for both the old and the new editions.

To resolve this problem you have to reinstall the new edition. Installing the new edition again will restore all the permissions needed by the application.

Please contact us at support@amblingbooks.com if you would like assistance on how to reinstall the new edition without first having to uninstall the new edition. Uninstalling the new edition will lose the information for the books that you have loaded into the book player.
