38kbps MP3 plays at fast speed

I'm trying to play MP3 files which are encoded at 38kbps, but they play at high speed.

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems playing these mp3 files. Could you check to see if you are able to play these mp3 files from the standard Android music player and let me know if it can play them properly.

I had one other user contact me to tell me he was having problems playing some files from his audiobook, but the other files from the same audiobook all played properly. He sent me the audio files to check and I found that the Android would not play them either through the Ambling BookPlayer or through the standard Android music player. When I tried to play them on Windows they played correctly. After some experimenting I found that the files were damaged but the Windows media player was ignoring the problems and still playing the files. The Android audio system was not ignoring the problems.

I found that reading the files into an audio editor (like Audacity or GoldWave) and writing them out again worked to create undamaged files which then played fine on the Android.

I don't know if the problems you are having are similar, but if you find that the standard Android music player also has problems playing the files it would be worth trying to read them into an audio editor and then rewriting them to see if that clears up the issues.

You are indeed correct. After repairing the MP3's they played at normal speed.
