Adding books from SD card is clumsy
I expected to be able to point to a directory and be done with it. Instead I had to selected individual files (or click select all). And then after that I was prompted to confirm each file. Yes there was an *auto* feature but I didn't see it at first because it was below the fold.
I have tried a number of other audio book programs and this is the first one that prompted me to select files instead of just the main folder.
I found it very clumsy to operate. Couldn't the app just have a default method then allow the user to tweak defaults from an options page? All of my books are simply mp3 files in a folder so I am going to be hitting the same extra 6 keystrokes ever time instead of just being able to pick a folder.
Thanks for listening.

Thanks for providing your feedback. I will put your suggestion on our list of features that have been asked for and we will see if we can provide a way to enter your books that removes some steps. From your comments I take it that you do not want to edit the book name or the chapters and would just like us to do something like name the book based on the name of the directory you selected and then auto number each chapter heading beginning with "Chapter 1" leaving the chapter titles blank. Is this correct?

I don't know if you have worked on this issue yet, but most people I know that are committed to audio books, get them on a cd, rip them to mp3 format, and copy to their phone. Usually, the ripping process causes you to create your own directory structure that consist of one folder for each cd, typically named something like The Dark Tower Disc 01, The Dark Tower Disc 02, The Dark Tower Disc 03, etc... I don't see many wanting to rename the folders, as you have to name them once when they are ripped. I just want to be able to point the app to the first folder, tell it to add the files and start listening, then move on to the next folder when that one is done...but that's just my opinion.

First, let me say that this app is awesome!
Now, a little more on the subject above, after I've listened to a book from my sd card.
I think that the whole process for this type of listener (one who rips book cd's to mp3 files and adds them to their sd card) needs to be simplified. Although the ability to name chapters is cool, and someone who doesn't listen to that many books may love it, I think it should be more of a configurable option, not a default. I listen to books for 3 to 8 hours every day. That's a lot of files, folders and chapters, none of which I want to spend tons of time adding titles/names to. Typincally, these files are already organized into numerical count when ripped, so no other sorting or naming is required. I really want to be able to navigate to the folder (that contains a single cd's worth of mp3 files) and with one or two clicks have it auto add the files just as they are in the folder, then start listening. Right now, there are so many options that it's quite a lot of clicking choices just to get the folder started playing.

Adding a preference option to skip past the screens asking for add chapter names is a good suggestion. I agree that many users would prefer to skip this.
Changes in the process for adding all the audio files from the SD card for a book are high on our list, and we hope to get to them soon.

Hi,
I have a similar problem as Iongrowe when putting files from my laptop to the sd card. I just want to be able to point the app to the root folder fer example Audiobooks and let the app put all those files in the library automatically.
Regards,
Marcel

We have released v2.02 which helps to streamline the process of entering audiobook files from the SD card. We have added a new preference option where you can set how the chapters should be named, and you will no longer be prompted for the chapter names if you don't want to enter the names.
We are also planning to support some additional ways of specifying the audio files to be imported in an upcoming release.
