Default Motorla Droid & Bluetooth Controls

I am using the personal edition and I can not get the bluetooth controls (pause & play) to work.

Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?

There are some phones like the HTC Hero that have known problems with the Bluetooth support, because of the way the pre-installed HTC media player takes over complete control of the Bluetooth functions.

You can see more information about this issue at http://groups.google.com/group/andro...a528ab2cd1f0b8

What type of phone do you have?

I just noticed that in the title of your post mentioned you are using a Motorola Droid. I have not heard of any problems using the Bluetooth functions with the Motorola Droid before.

You do need to pair the two Bluetooth devices you are using before you can use the buttons. This is a security step that prevents random Bluetooth devices from accessing your phone.

You can initiate pairing from the Android device by pressing the MENU button while on the home screen, and then selecting: Settings -> Wireless controls -> Bluetooth settings.

You will also need to initiate pairing on the other Bluetooth device you are using. You will need to refer to the instructions that came with that device to see how to initiate Bluetooth pairing for your other device.

Once the two devices are paired, you should be able to use the Bluetooth controls with the Ambling BookPlayer.

    Thanks for you quick reply.

After playing quite a bit with all the different players I have on my phone the problem was the 3rd party player (called cubed "supper script 3"). It has a setting that says intercept headset control signals. Apparently it does this badly and over rides all other players . I'll be sending the developers a bug report.

    Thanks again.
